Coffey County (Burlington)
Come explore the energy of Coffey County, the proud home of the only nuclear power generating station in Kansas, towering wind turbines that can be seen for miles, and beautiful parks and rolling farmlands. Or, fish the open waters of one of our five lakes, including the 5,000 acre Coffey County Lake, which is dedicated exclusively to fishing.
Enjoy the rich history of our small town communities – Burlington, Gridley, LeRoy, New Strawn and Waverly, and be sure to stop by the Fuga Winery in Lebo.
Coffey County is easily accessible via Interstate 35 and Highway 75, located in the heart of Eastern Kansas, just 15 miles east of Emporia, 21 miles west of Ottawa, and 44 miles south of Topeka.
